Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has entered into an agreement with COVAX to receive 40 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said.
A total of 1.6 million doses have landed in the country and another 400,000 shots will arrive soon, Madbouly added on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Medicine City in Khanka on Thursday, according to state-run TV.
He affirmed that vaccination priority is for medical staff, the elderly, and people suffering from chronic diseases.
On Wednesday, Egypt received 854,400 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine as part of the COVAX agreement.
