Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian public budget for fiscal year 2018/2019 is set to achieve the constitutional requirements in terms of health, education, and higher education spending.
Although the allocated funds oblige to the constitution the still remain insufficient to fully complete the developmental goals, according to the head of the committee for planning and budget in the House of Representatives.
Hussien Eissa added on Saturday that the parliament is asking cabinet to send the complete plans of the ministries to be reviewed by the legislators, as the parliament has only received drafts of general proposals.
Subsides will be increased by EGP 50 billion in the new budget to a total of EGP 332 billion, compared to EGP 282 billion in FY17/18, Eissa added, noting the fuel subsidies will continue to be decreased gradually.
