Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is expected to receive an additional 700,000 shots of Johnson & Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 vaccine as a second batch in the coming period, Minister of Health and Population, Hala Zayed, announced on Tuesday.
This statement followed the arrival of the first shipment of J&J vaccine, which included 261,600 doses, on Monday, 9 August.
Obtaining the vaccine jabs came in cooperation with the African Union.
Zayed confirmed that the Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines (VACSERA) is ready to produce different sorts of COVID-19 vaccines and distribute them to African countries after fulfilling the local demand.
