Egypt to receive two LRT trains from China in September

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is expected to receive the third and fourth trains of the light rail transit (LRT) connecting El-Salam City with 10th of Ramadan City through the New Administrative Capital in September, Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir revealed. 

The two trains have already been shipped from China and currently on their way to the North African nation, El-Wazir added in a statement on Sunday. 

Construction works for the stations are about to complete as the pilot operation of the first two trains, which have already arrived from China, will begin shortly, the minister noted. 

The route will extend for 103.3 kilometres (km) over 19 stations.
