Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt will send a technical delegation to Moscow on 26 September to discuss the resume of the agriculture exports, the industry minister told Mubasher.
Tarek Kabil stated on the sideline of the Euromoney conference on Tuesday that the delegation will include representatives from the plant quarantine and businessmen, adding to representatives from the trade ministry.
On Friday, Russia announced a temporary ban on the Egyptian imports of Egyptian agricultural products starting from 22 September, for safety reasons.
The Russian decision comes after Egypt refused to receive a Russian wheat shipment in one of the Russian ports as it did not comply with the regulations.
Egypt changed its import regulations that it would no longer accept any amount of ergot fungus in its imported wheat, after it had previously accepted 0.05% of it in imported wheat, a level considered harmless.
Egyptian agricultural exports to Russian are valued at $350 million annually, Kabil said.
