Egypt to spend EGP 10.8bn on slum development in FY19/20

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Ministry of Finance (MoF) has allocated EGP 10.8 billion for the development of informal settlements during fiscal year 2019/2020.

The Egyptian government will also spend EGP 14.5 billion to build, complete, replace, and renew water and wastewater projects in governorates across the country, finance minister Mohamed Maait said in a statement on Monday.

Additionally, an amount of EGP 7 billion has been allocated to the neediest villages in the most populous Arab nation, he added.
