Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt aims to halt importing liquefied natural gas (LNG) by the end of fiscal year 2017/2018 as production has been accelerated at recently discovered gas fields, Reuters reported, citing petroleum minister Tarek El-Molla.
The North African state will save around $250 million per month by no longer importing LNG, El-Molla added.
Given that Egypt stated previously that it would stop importing LNG by early 2019.
