Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s investment minister Sahar Nasr is heading to the American capital Washington on Wednesday to participate in the World Bank’s annual meetings.
It is worth mentioning that Nasr was chosen to preside the African group meetings 2018.
The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) chairman Mohammed Farid, the chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA), and the economic consultant Shehab Marzban will accompany Nasr to the annual meetings.
The Egyptian delegation heading to Washington will discuss investment opportunities in Egypt with the officials of the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), according to a statement on Sunday.
Egypt’s delegation will also discuss the cooperation portfolio of total $8 billion, equivalent to the World Bank $6 billion grant to bolster development projects and the IFC’s $2 billion for the public sector in Egypt.
Nasr will be meeting with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to present the Egyptian government’s priorities over the coming period, according to the statement.
The minister further will be heading to New York to attend a meeting organised by CI Capital and the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt to meet a number of American investors and firms.
