Egypt tops Arab world in implementing SDGs

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt ranked first in the Arab region in implementing the guidelines of national reporting platforms (NRP) related to sustainable development goals (SDGs), the Minister of International Cooperation, Rania El-Mashat, said in a statement on Tuesday, citing a recent United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA) report.

Egypt recorded the highest implementation rate of 50% for SDGs, according to the report, which was developed by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) in collaboration with UNICEF and the UN Resident Coordinator.

In 2020, the North African nation came in the 83rd position in the sustainable development report, beating several Arab countries such as Jordan, the Minister of Planning, Hala El-Saeed, said in a separate statement.
