Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s tourism sector revenues could rise to $7 billion by the end of 2017, said Adla Ragab, deputy tourism minister.
On the sidelines of London’s World Travel Market (WTM) event, Ragab noted that the number of tourists visiting Egypt is expected to reach 7.5 million tourists by the end of the year.
Tourism revenues jumped 211.8% during the first nine months of 2017 to $5.3 billion, compared to $1.7 billion in the same period of the previous year.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) also forecasted Egypt’s tourism revenues to increase 25.7% in the fiscal year 2017/2018.
