Egypt tourist arrivals fall 47% in March - CAPMAS

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has received 440,700 tourists during March 2016, said the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The number of foreign arrivals thus declined by 47.2% year-over-year from 834,600 tourists in March 2015, CAPMAS added.

The agency partly attributed this decline to the Russian flight ban to Egyptian resorts following the latest airplane crash in Sinai, the state-run statistics body indicated.

In February 2016, this number fell by 45.9% year-over-year to 346,500 from 640,200 tourists

In 2010, the number of arrivals were 14.7 million tourists, yet retreated to 9.3 million ones in 2015.
