Egypt trade balance deficit decline 3.1% in Aug

Cairo – Mubasher: The deficit in Egyptian trade balance dropped by 3.1% in August 2016 to EGP 37.8 billion from EGP 38.9 billion pounds a year earlier, according to the monthly bulletin of Egyptian main statistics body Central Agency For Public Mobilization And Statistics (CAPMAS).

In August, Egypt's exports rose by 22.9% to EGP 16.7 billion opposed to EGP 13.6 billion at the same month of 2015, the CAPMAS stated.

According to the bulletin, some commodities witnessed an increase in its exports volume such as Crude oil (16.6%), apparel (7.1%), fertilizers (87.9%), and variety of Slurries and food preparations (6.9%).

On other side, the total volume of Egypt's imports edged down by 3.6% in August 2016 to EGP 54.4 billion compared to EGP 52.5 billion in August 2016.

According to the bulletin, some commodities witnessed a decline in its imports volume such as petroleum products (22%) raw materials of iron or steel (6.1, cars ride (8.1%), medications and preparations pharmacy (0.4%).
