Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has completed the expansion and replacement works of the electricity network in Alexandria at a cost of EGP 230 million.
The upgrade included setting up eight distributors and establishing 90 substations with variable capacities as well as extending medium-voltage ground cables at a length of 75 kilometres (km) and low-voltage ground cables at a length of 37 km, according to a statement on Monday.
Moreover, the works also comprised the construction of low-voltage overhead cables and the replacement of 80 medium-voltage overhead poles and four-km medium-voltage overhead line connectors.
