Cairo – Mubasher: The cost of upgrading the SEMAF Factory, run by the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), amounts to EUR 55 million, the factory’s chairman Ismail Nagdy revealed.
By October, the railway equipment factory is expected to be completely upgraded to the highest international standards, Nagdy said in a cabinet statement on Wednesday.
Several contracts have been signed to purchase 89 machines and upgrade 46 machines in the factory, Nagdy added.
The total number of required carriages to be produced by the factory is 3,344 at average of 334 per year based on the requirements of the Ministry of Transport.
