Egypt welcomes 1st Russian flight after 2-yr ban Wednesday

Cairo – Mubasher: Aeroflot Russian Airlines has announced that its first flights from Moscow will arrive at Cairo International Airport on Wednesday at 12:25 am after a two-year ban.

On the other hand, EgyptAir will also resume its flights to Moscow as the Egyptian airline’s first flight to Moscow Domodedovo Airport will arrive on Thursday, 12 April at 9:35 am, the Russian airline said on its official website.

In March, Russia’s flag carrier Aeroflot said that flights from Moscow to Cairo would be resumed on 11 April 2018.

In January 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to resume flights between Moscow and Cairo.

Russia suspended all Russian flights to the North African nation in November 2015 after a Russian passenger jet had crashed in the Sinai Peninsula, killing all 224 passengers and crew on board.
