Cairo - Egypt: The chairman of the Egyptian central authority for organization and administration (CAOA) negated on Saturday that the Egyptian government intends to lay off 2 million employees.
Mohamed Gamil said in an official statement issued by the Egyptian cabinet’s information and decision support center, that these rumors are completely false.
It was claimed by some media reports that Egypt will have to cut 2 million jobs in the public sector as part of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) conditions to approve a $12 billion loan to Egypt.
The chairman stressed that the economic reform program is a national process not controlled by foreign organizations, adding that it will not affect workers or employees.
