Cairo-Mubasher: An EgyptAir plane en route from Paris to Cairo with 66 people on board disappeared from radar after entering the Egyptian airspace early Thursday, the carrier said in a statement.
The Egyptian carrier earlier said that total people aboard were 69.
Flight MS804 took off from Charles de Gaulle airport at 11:09 pm Paris time, and communication with the aircraft was lost at about 2:45 am Cairo time.
Search and rescue operations are under way in the Mediterranean Sea to look for the plane, the statement added.
