EgyptAir hijacker taken into custody – Cyprus president

Cairo – Mubasher: The hijacker of EgyptAir jet was taken into custody in Cyprus on Tuesday, Nicos Anastasiades, President of Cyprus, tweeted.

A few moments later, an official at Egypt Air announced that all hostages are safely released and Cyprus police caught the hijacker.

Earlier, the minister of Civil Aviation  stated that flight 181 took off from Alexandria’s Borg El-Arab at 6:30am and the pilot reported the hijacking at 7am approximately. The hijacked plane then landed in Cyprus’s Larnaca airport at 7:50am.

The hijacker released all hostages except seven persons, including the crew and three other passengers before being arrested.
