Cairo – Mubasher: EgyptAir Holding plans to add 12 flights a week from Cairo to Moscow, along with the three scheduled flights.
This step aims to carry Egyptian football fans who intend to support the national team during the FIFA World Cup held in Russia next June, chairman of the airline Safwat Musallam said.
He added that flights will be intensified during the World Cup period if demand increases, according to local newspaper Al Shorouk.
On 4 January 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to resume flights between Moscow and Cairo.
In November 2015, Russia suspended all Russian flights to Egypt after a Russian passenger jet had crashed in the Sinai Peninsula, where 217 people died.
