Egyptian banks’ deposits increase 17% in Sep

Cairo – Mubasher: The deposits by the banks working in Egypt increased by 17% y-o-y by the end of September 2016, according to the monthly bulletin published by the Central Bank of Egypt.

The total deposits in the Egyptian banks have reached EGP 2.2 trillion by the end of last September.

The governmental deposits have recorded EGP 375.2 billion, while the non – governmental ones have recorded EGP 1.82 trillion

CBE pointed out that the total loans in the Egyptian banks have reached EGP 964.8 billion, by the end of September.

The loans directed to the government during September stood at EGP 186.3 billion, while the private sector accounted for EGP 778.5 billion.
