Egyptian banks’ deposits rise 1.2% in March – CBE

Cairo – Mubasher: The value of total deposits at the Egyptian banks increased by 1.2% month-on-month in March, according to data by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

Total deposits at national lenders amounted to EGP 3.93 trillion at the end of March, versus EGP 3.87 trillion in February, data showed.

Moreover, the banks’ government deposits stood at EGP 634.09 billion last March, compared to EGP 631.14 billion in February.

Meanwhile, non-government deposits rose to EGP 3.29 trillion from EGP 3.24 trillion in February.
