Cairo – Mubasher: Total foreign-currency deposits at Egyptian banks declined by EGP 6.1 billion ($358 million) at the end of March to EGP 741.62 billion ($43.6 billion) from EGP 747.7 billion ($43.9 billion) in February, data by the Central Bank of Egypt showed.
On the other hand, deposits in foreign currencies rose 6.9% year-on-year last March, versus EGP 693.6 billion, according to the CBE.
The CBE also stated that Egypt’s domestic liquidity rose to EGP 3.723 trillion in March, versus EGP 3.67 trillion in February.
The CBE previously posted that Egypt's foreign reserves rose to $44.112 billion at the end of March.
