Cairo – Mubasher: Non-government foreign-currency deposits at Egyptian banks declined to EGP 677.32 billion in October 2019, compared to EGP 694.72 billion in September, according to a report released on Wednesday by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Since the beginning of 2019, non-government foreign-currency deposits at Egyptian banks saw a mixed performance, the report added.
Deposits recorded EGP 749.89 billion in April, EGP 725.83 billion in May, EGP 723.32 billion in June, EGP 717.03 billion in July, EGP 708.41 billion in August, and EGP 694.72 billion in September.
It is worth highlighting that total government and non-government deposits at Egyptian banks amounted to EGP 4.16 trillion at the end of October, including EGP 3.54 trillion non-government deposits and EGP 623.7 billion government deposits.
