Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian banks have provided loans worth a combined EGP 1.843 trillion to their clients in March, up 1.09% month-on-month from EGP 1.823 trillion in February, data by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) showed.
Total granted loans to the government reached EGP 567.287 billion at the end of March, versus EGP 568.409 billion in February, according to the CBE.
Local-currency loans to the government stood at EGP 227.943 billion last March, while foreign currency-denominated loans amounted to EGP 340.671 billion.
Meanwhile, loans provided to non-government entities recorded EGP 1.276 trillion at the end of March, versus EGP 1.255 trillion a month earlier.
