Egyptian chambers of commerce collect above EGP 1.4bn taxes

Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian chambers of commerce have succeeded in streamlining procedures for submitting tax declarations and collected more than EGP 1.4 billion in taxes for the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) in the last tax season, head of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FECC), Ahmed El-Wakil, said.

FECC plans to increase industrial and service exports to duty-free markets in neighbouring Arab and African countries, Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported, citing El-Wakil as saying.

On a side note, El-Wakil, head of Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME), said that the European Union (EU) has supported ASCAME with grants for more than 27 regional projects to support investment and trade in the region.
