Cairo - Mubasher: Egyptian cotton imports grew by 63.9% in the first quarter of the 2016-2017 season, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
CAPMAS said on Thursday that cotton imports totalled 5,202 quintals during the three-month period between September and November, compared to 6,123 quintals in the same period the year before.
The rise in imports is attributed to the increase in stocks from the previous season, CAPMAS explained.
