Cairo – Mubasher: Remittances from Egyptian expatriates in the UAE rose by AED 200 million ($55 million) during the first quarter of 2019.
Money transfers from Egyptians working in the GCC nation amounted to AED 2.3 billion ($627 million) in the three-month period ended 31 March, compared to AED 2.1 billion ($572 million) in the year-ago period, according to a recent statement released by Egypt’s ministry of manpower.
In 2018, remittances from Egyptian workers in the UAE stood at AED 8.7 billion ($2.4 billion) from AED 8.5 billion ($2.3 billion) a year earlier.
