Cairo – Mubasher: Remittances from Egyptian expatriates climbed by $1.3 billion or 33.6% year-on-year (YoY) during the first two months of 2020, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on Thursday.
Egyptian expats’ remittances increased to $5.2 billion from 1 January to the end of February, compared to $3.9 billion during the corresponding months in 2019.
YoY, remittances of Egyptians abroad rose to $2.6 billion in January from $2.1 billion and increased to $2.6 billion in February from $1.8 billion.
