Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian exports of building materials, refractories, and metallurgy industries rose by 10% to $399 million in September, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Wednesday.
The UAE maintained its position as the top destination for Egypt’s exports of building materials with $103 million, accounting for 25.8% of the total exports of the sector, the executive manager of the Export Council for Building Materials, Hanan Ismail, said.
Canada advanced to the second place with $62 million, followed by Italy, Libya, and Saudi Arabia which accounted for $36 million, $19 million, and $13 million, respectively, she noted.
Exports of jewellery and gemstones topped the sector with $164 million, while exports of aluminium as well as iron and steel reached $44 million and $35 million, respectively.
