Egyptian exports to France hit EUR 572m in 2017 - Minister

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's exports of goods to France rose by 36.4% year-on-year to EUR 572 million in 2017 from EGP 420 million a year earlier.

Bilateral trade between Egypt and France grew by 21.8% year-on-year last year, Egyptian trade minister Tarek Kabil said in a statement on Sunday.

For his part, head of the Egyptian Commercial Service Office (ECS) Ahmed Antar said that exports of organic chemicals came in the first spot with a growth rate of a 226.6%, followed by fertilisers with a growth rate of 61.5%.

Plastic ranked third with a growth rate of 54%, followed by fresh vegetables and ready-made clothes and textiles with an increase of 27% and 5%, respectively, Antar noted.
