Egyptian government approves new energy strategy

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail has approvd on Tuesday the country’s new sustainable energy strategy until the year 2035, according to an official statement by the Egyptian cabinet.

The strategy achieves the lowest cost and the desired balance, the statement added, as it is based on renewing the energy strategy until 2035 with reforming the natural gas sector, building the national calibers to promote an effective energy management, and to reduce greenhouse gases emissions in the industrial and the transportation sectors among others.

According to the strategy, the prime minister has requested the decrease of using fossil fuels from 96% to 81% of the total energy mix by 2035.
