Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government will be moving to the country’s New Administrative Capital by June 2020, according to the Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority, Abdel Moteleb Emara.
Emara said during the 4th Real Estate Debate Conference that the move will help leverage the capital to a new level, noting that the electric train and the monorail are being completed to help public employees commute to their new workplaces.
Around 500,000 residents are expected in the capital’s first phase, including 40,000 to 50,000 public sector employees, a number that is set to increase to 100,000 after three years.
The New Administrative Capital, which spans across 170,000 feddans, will house a targeted 6.5 million residents when completed, generating around two million job opportunities.
