Cairo – Mubasher: The number of Egyptian immigrants dropped by 5.2% in 2017 to 348 people, compared to 367 immigrants in the year before.
Egyptians who obtained approval to immigrate abroad amounted to 311 immigrants and 37 companions, representing 89.4% and 10.6%, respectively, of the total number, according to data by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics' (CAPMAS).
Italy came in the first spot in terms of the approved immigration, with 154 Egyptian immigrants, making up 44.3% of total immigrants.
Egyptians who acquired other foreign nationalities reached 2,331 in 2017, versus 2,241 in 2016, rising 4%.
The number of Egyptian immigrants dropped 10% in 2016 to 367, against 409 in 2015.
