Cairo-Mubasher: The Egyptian pound kept flat against the dollar at the official foreign currency auction held on Sunday.
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) sold $38.8 million at an unchanged price of EGP 7.73 each, the bank said on its website.
At the official market, the dollar exchange rate reaches EGP 7.78 for buying and EGP 7.83 for selling, according to the data released by the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) on its website.
On 11 November 2015, the CBE had surprisingly raised the Egyptian pound exchange rate by EGP 0.20 to EGP 7.73, the first time the local currency rose against the dollar in 2015.
