Cairo – Mubasher: The number of start-up companies fell 18% last week to 281 firms with issued capital of EGP 307 million, said the General Authority for Investment (GAFI)
The newly established firms will provide 1,937 job opportunities, including 1,019 crafts jobs, GAFI added.
The authority noted that the new companies work in the fields of agriculture, industry, tourism, services, construction and information technology.
Egyptian capital represents EGP 292.7 million in the new companies, while Arab and foreign capitals account for EGP 10.1 million and EGP 4.6 million, respectively.
Egypt targets achieving foreign investments of $10 billion in the fiscal year 2016-2017, according to earlier statements for the ministry of investment.
