Egyptians’ remittances up 11% since EGP flotation

Cairo - Mubasher: The assistant sub-governor for economic research in the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said that transfers from Egyptians living abroad have increased 11.1%, equaling $930 million, between November 2016 and April 2017.

Naglaa Nozahie told Mubasher on Sunday that Egyptians’ remittances reached $9.3 billion during that period after the flotation of the Egyptian pound, compared to $8.3 billion in the same period last year.

Nozahie also noted that the Data of April 2017 showed a slight decline in transfers, registering $1.32 billion, compared to $1.36 billion in April 2016.
