Egytrans awarded EGP 8m contract

Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian Transport and Commercial Services Company (Egytrans) said it signed an agreement worth EGP 8 million with a consortium led by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

Through the agreement, Egytrans will carry out transportation and storage works related to Egypt’s Helwan South Power Project.

Egytrans is expected to start the project’s handling and transportations works in the second quarter of 2016, while the power station is expected to start operations in December 2017.

The component of the project includes a 3x650-MW (total capacity 1950 MW) supercritical steam technology power plant, fired by natural gas as the primary fuel and by heavy fuel oil as a backup.
