El-Sisi directs gov't to strengthen financial system governance

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait, affirmed that the country has been working on strengthening the financial system governance in accordance with the Digital Egypt plan in line as per the directives of the President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

All automated government transactions will be secured by e-signatures, Maait added in a statement on Sunday, noting that this will help support good governance of public finances.

Since 2009, the ministry has issued about 51,000 e-signature certificates, renewable every three years, for the governmental sector and will issue 52,000 e-signature certificates in the coming period for employees working at the state administrative sector before being moved to the New Administrative Capital, he revealed.

He further added that the ministry is working on modernising and automating all divisions and authorities affiliated to the finance ministry, including the tax and customs authorities.
