Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on Sunday announced nominating the chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Kamel El-Wazir to upgrade Egypt’s railways by 30 June 2020.
El-Wazir was nominated as a new transport minister, but his official appointment is still pending parliamentary approval, El-Sisi noted during the 30th cultural symposium of the Armed Forces on the occasion of Martyr's Day.
It is noteworthy that the former transport minister Hisham Arafat resigned after a train crash at Cairo’s main train station that killed at least 20 and injured dozens.
