Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Wednesday inaugurated the first phase of the country's New Administrative Capital.
The Egyptian government is planning to establish new cities across the country, especially after the population growth rate exceeded 100 million citizens, El-Sisi said in his speech at the opening ceremony.
The new capital aims to attract about 7 million people in its first phase.
In October 2016, the president noted that Egypt is targeting to complete the initial phase of the new capital by 2018, as all phases will be completed with five to six years.
Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, built on a 714-square kilometre area, is set to be completed in 2020
