Cairo – Mubasher: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi instructed the government to raise the minimum wage for state employees to EGP 2,400 as of fiscal year (FY) 2021/2022 from the current EGP 2,000.
This increase will cost the country EGP 37 billion in the coming fiscal year’s budget, according to a statement on Monday.
The president also ordered a 13% increase in pensions, which will cost the country an additional amount of EGP 31 billion in FY21/22.
In addition, state employees covered by the Civil Service Law will get a 7% annual raise of their salary, while those not covered by the law will get a 13% annual raise of their basic wage.
