Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO) approved the technical bylaw of electric vehicles, which was set by the Saudi government, the private sector and all concerned parties, said SASO deputy governor Saud Al-Askar.
The new procedures will be put into effect on all imported units or personal cases after six months of endorsing the bylaw, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing Al-Askar as saying.
SASO received personal requests to approve entry of an electric vehicle into the local market.
The Saudi body is currently preparing the procedures of receiving commercial requests for electric vehicles that will start as of the coming month.
