Cairo – Mubasher: Elsewedy Electric Co. signed an agreement with Toyota Tsusho for designing and building two photovoltaic solar power plants with a capacity of 50 megawatts (MW) each.
The deal includes setting up a new system for storing energy in batteries in the cities of Mongu and Sesheke in Zambia, the Egyptian Ministry of Investment said in a statement on Wednesday.
Set to be Africa’s largest solar energy storage system, the project will be financed by Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) in favour of the Zambian Ministry of Energy.
