Elsewedy Electric's unit inks $16.7m deal to build substation in Ghana

Cairo – MubasherElsewedy Electric Co announced that its 99.8%-owned subsidiary Elsewedy Electric for Transmission & Distribution of Energy signed an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreement worth $16.7 million to build a substation for the Electricity Company of Ghana. 

The contract includes designing, supplying, and installing a 33/11 kilovolt (kV) substation over a 24-month period on a turnkey basis, the company said in a bourse disclosure on Sunday. 

In the first half (H1) of 2021, Elsewedy Electric Co reported consolidated net profits of EGP 1.74 billion, compared to EGP 1.025 billion in H1-20, including minority shareholders' rights.
