Cairo – Mubasher: Elsewedy Electric's net profit for the second quarter of 2016 jumped 67.6% year-on-year to EGP 893.04 million ($100.3 million) from EGP 532.93 million ($59.8 million), the consolidated financial statement revealed.

Over the first six months, the company earned EGP 1.66 billion ($186.4 million), higher 109% from EGP 792.92 million ($89 million) for the prior-year period.

Meanwhile, H1 standalone net profit leapt 118.5% year-over-year to EGP 345.1 million from EGP 157.95 million.

In the first quarter, the company registered 767.73 million profits, compared to EGP 259.99 million a year earlier.
