Cairo – Mubasher: Elsewedy Electric said Sunday that its subsidiary El Sewedy Electric for Trade and Distribution has been awarded a contract worth $190 million on 4 July 2016.
By this contract, the subsidiary will design, supply, and construct 358-kilometer overhead power lines with for the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, according to the company’s press release.
The mother company clarified that the 500 KV transmission lines aim at linking different Egyptian areas with one another and are expected to be installed within 18 months as of the date of the project initiation phase.
On 30 June, Elsewedy Power System and Elsewedy Cables – Qatar have signed two contracts worth QAR 80 million (EGP 195 million) for establishing a transformer station with isolated gas system.
Earlier, Egytech Cables, a subsidiary, was awarded two contracts at EGP 671 million ($75 million) for upgrading Egypt power grid, according to a bourse filing.
