Emaar Misr opens Al Alamein Hotel after EGP 1.5bn revamp

Cairo – Mubasher: Emaar Hospitality Group, a subsidiary of UAE-based Emaar Properties, has inaugurated Al Alamein Hotel in Marassi by the Sidi Abdelrahman Bay of the Mediterranean Sea after revamping it at a combined cost of EGP 1.5 billion.

"The refurbishment of Al Alamein Hotel provides an example of our determination to offer a hotel that is on a par with, or rather superior to, world-class resorts," chairman Mohamed Al Abbar said in a statement.

This came on the sidelines of the opening of the hotel, attended by Al Abbar and Egyptian tourism minister Rania Al-Mashat.

Al Alamein Hotel features the renowned Umbrellas sculpture by Greek artist George Zongolopoulos, in addition to other artworks and sculptures by a large number of local and global artists, including an iconic mosaic mural of the Egyptian singer Om Kolthoum.

Al Abbar previously said that Emaar Misr, a subsidiary of Emaar Properties, will operate some hotels in Marassi with over EGP 8 billion in investments.

In April, Emaar Hospitality announced the beginning of the renovation and redesign work of Al Alamein Hotel.
