Emaar boosts DFM on Monday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Monday’s trading session on a positive note, backed by Emaar Properties.

The DFM’s general index added 7.57 points, or 0.29%, to close the session at 2,656.16 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 75.77 million shares exchanged at a turnover of AED 159.6 million through 1,942 transactions.

The bourse’s market capitalisation shed AED 870 million and closed the session at AED 351.2 billion.

The real estate sector rose by 1.54% on the back of Emaar Properties that increased by 2.47%.

The consumer goods sector added 0.86%, followed by the services sector that rose 0.62%.

On the other hand, the banks sector shed 0.47%, followed by the investments and financial sector that tumbled 0.5%.

Emaar Properties was the most heavily traded stock with a turnover of AED 56 million.
