Emaar drags DFM down Tuesday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) main index retreated at Tuesday’s close.

The main index inched down 0.06% or 2 points to close at 3,608.82 points.

The real estate sector led the DFM’s losers with 0.39%, after Emaar Properties, DAMAC Properties, Union Properties, Deyaar, and Arabtec Holdings shed 0.06%, 0.26%, 1.13%, 0.79%, and 0.33%, respectively.

The banks sector edged down 0.06% after GFH and Amlak Finance fell 1.82% and 1.80%, respectively.

The DFM’s turnover increased to AED 609.3 million on Tuesday, generated through 5,645 transactions compared to AED 433.3 million on Monday, with 409.9 million traded shares.

The Drake and Scull International’s (DSI) stock topped the DFM in terms of both trading volume and value, with 114.6 million shares traded at a value of AED 220.02 million through 1,412 transactions.
