Dubai-Mubasher: Emaar Properties announced that it will build a new tower in the Dubai Creek area on Saturday, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Construction of the tower will begin in a few months, Emaar’s Chairman Mohamed Alabbar said, adding that the new tower will be “as great as Burj Khalifa".
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, approved the design by Spanish-Swiss neo-futuristic architect Santiago Calatrava Valls.
The tower will be linked to the central island district of the upcoming Dubai Creek Harbour development with a 4.5 km boardwalk offering retail, dining, and leisure and entertainment options.
